Usually, all cases are scheduled either for 10 am or 2 pm, with the order determined by the prosecutor (the “Procurator Fiscal”). As a result, it is normal to have to wait in court for a case to begin. The public galleries in court have a comfortable seating area for this. Individuals are advised to have phones switched to silent, or off, whilst the court is in session.
